Carter and I enjoyed a bike ride at Lake Nockamixon on Sunday. We discovered the coolest rocky cove at the end of the bike trail. After a good amount of time spent climbing on the rocks and skipping stones, we headed back for a sail with Ben and Tom.

Dana & Matt's Wedding - July 18, 2009
Wedding bells rang on Saturday, July 18th for Dana and Matt. They were married in the conservatory at the Madison Hotel in Madison, NJ. The weather was absolutely beautiful, which made the wedding even more magnificent as the sun shine came through the glass windows on the lovely ceremony and reception within. It was also my first time being a bride's maid. And what a great experience it was! I'll do it again with pleasure :)

ice cream and a conversation
Ivy and I tend to ask Carter about some adult-like topics to gain some uncensored, 8 year old perspective. We don't dig deep and we're almost always never around our mother when we ask him questions. If we were, she would make Carter sign a "No Marriage Until 35" contract like she made Ivy and I sign when were were 10 years old or so.
So, last night Ivy, Carter, Tom, and I went to treat ourselves to ice cream after dinner. Tom had gone to fill up the car with gas, so it was just Ivy and I with Carter. We were talking about all kinds of things, but when the subject of age and marriage came up, we asked carter:
Ivy and Me: If you met someone you loved, would you marry that person?
Carter: Yes.
Carter: Why are we talking about this now???
Carter: .... TALK to me in TWO years... (rolling eyes)
Ivy and Me: (rolling with laughter)

Helping Tourists at Starbucks
My co-worker and I took a mid-afternoon coffee break today. While we were waiting for his beverage to be made, I was approached by two female tourists (mother and daughter... i think) who asked me what I ordered and if I could help the mother order the same. The conversation was friendly and within seconds, I was utilizing my knowledge of sign language to break down communication barriers. This short interaction reminded me how much I enjoy helping people, especially those exploring new territory. Oh, their country of origin is Austria!
