Past Meets Present
Facing past issues with deep emotional roots isn't easy. Our friend reminded us tonight of the importance of facing facts, finding peace, and moving on. I could post a picture of our beautiful walk at Valley Forge or my extremely long wait in the customer room at the car dealership, but both of those photos would be concealing the truth. Instead, I'm posting a picture of our friends, who reminded us of just how important it is to live life to the fullest.

Endless
I'm very lucky to have a job that allows me to help others with their intellectual pursuits. When I get the opportunity to go into the stacks, I'm always amazed at the size of our print collection, which is still used very much. The aisle photographed is one of many!

A Tricky Picture Day
Taking pictures today was tricky. And selecting ONE was trickier! None of the pictures I snapped today are exceptional, but selecting a moment from today was difficult. I find myself thinking about this project throughout the day: what should I take a pic of?, how do I want to remember this day?, should I have a goal in this process?, is this ridiculous?, and finally, it's ONLY day 4 out of 366! ACK!
On the upside, this project has forced me to live in the moment and think about what is in front of me. And even on day 4, I must say that I've benefitted greatly from this fact alone.
So today's picture was selected over the others because of its special circumstances. Thomas flew to Portland, Maine and back today and picked up fresh lobster while he was there. It's not very often that we have lobster and definitely not very often that we have lobster in January!
The second picture is the runner-up.

Lunch Lit.
Today's picture comes to you from the staff room at my work. What you see in the picture is exactly what I read while munching on my lunch - Oprah's Favorite Things, Lady Gaga, and USA Today's Money section. All in all, Oprah has a odd sense of expensive taste, Lady Gaga... well... is Lady Gaga, and USA Today reports a healthy forecast for the stock market in 2012.

Happy 2012!!
One of my goals this year is to take a photograph each day and post it on here. This is an exciting project for me as it will test my discipline to photograph and upload DAILY. I'm allowing myself to use my iPhone in addition to my Nikon, which will make this project so much easier. Here's to 2012 and all of the photographs that await!
