San Diego Recap and some pics

We departed San Diego this morning and began missing it as soon as we stepped into the airport. Tom and I had such a wonderful time touring local towns and beaches, watching local people in their daily routine, and, of course, visiting with Garth, Lisa and their beautiful baby girl Kayla. This was our first time visiting California, so the whole trip seemed like one big highlight. I couldn't decide what I liked most, I loved everything equally. Below is a list of places and things we saw and did.

-South African Food Shop (Tom was absolutely thrilled to get his hands on chocolate and meat items he missed so much)
-Mount Soledad
-Scenic drive down Rt. 101 (beginning from Encinitas, CA)
-Old Town
-Gaslamp District
-Towns/Suburds visited: Hillcrest, La Jolla Village, Encinitas, Mission Bay, Pacific Beach, Ocean Beach, Coronado Island
-Self-guided tour of Hotel Del Coronado
-Balboa Park (Garden, Automotive and Photography museums)
-Torrey Pines Golf Course
-Beaches visited: Coronado South Beach, Solana Beach, La Jolla Cove and Beach, Wind & Sea Beach
-Culinary highlights: Fred's Mexican Restaurant in Old Town, Hash House in Hillcrest, In-N-Out chain, Swami's Cafe in Encinatas, Anthony's on North Harbor Drive

I took A LOT of pictures and started posting them on my Flickr page, but more will be posted very soon on Flickr and here as well. Below are pics of some of the food we enjoyed:
